North Miami Beach
North
Miami Beach is a great little beachside city located in northeast Miami-Dade
County, Florida. According to 2004 U.S. Census estimates, this sunny south
Florida city, also known as NMB, had a population of 39,921.
Although there are no beaches within the actual city
limits of North Miami Beach, There are some very popular beaches
just across the intercoastal that are very popular with locals and
tourists alike. Some come here to enjoy basking in the sun at the
clothing optional section of beach at Haulover Park.
North Miami Beach was incorporated in 1926. The citys original name was
Fulford, after U.S. Coast Guard Captain, William H Fulford. The city changed
its name to North Miami Beach in 1931. Since then, it has grown into a
favorite relocation and retirement spot for folks from all over the U.S.
and the world.
North Miami Beach is small and has an excellent public transportation
system, which means that many of the residents do not have to rely
on driving around as much. Its population is also very ethnically
diverse and at the same time, property and violent crime rates are
quite low. This is due in part to the common family values shared
by the community of this little tropical haven. This is a place
where residents can relax and raise their families in a safe and
prosperous environment.
