Community Involvement
Nancy has engaged herself in the Miami community. She is currently on the gifting committee of the Batchelor Foundation, a Trustee of Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation, past Board Member of The Cushman School, on the Executive Committee of Junior Cotillion of Miami, and is on the President’s Council of Easter Seals Miami-Dade.
She is Co-Chair of Hearing and Speech Center, Committee Chair of American Cancer Society’s Cattle Barrons Ball, 2006 Queen of Hearts for Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, Board Member of Fairchild Botanical Garden and founding member of La Gorce Country Club.
She also serves on the Leadership Council of University of Miami, 2009 Destination Fashion – One of the Women of Style and Substance which is benefiting Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at UM and Miami Science Museum Board of Trustees.

Miami Philanthropists Dine at Legendary Joe’s Stone Crab
The 26th Annual Informed Families/The Florida Family Partnership Dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant was celebrated with all the elements families love most about Miami – great music, amazing food, celebrity sightings and an exclusive prize. The 26th Annual Dinner at Joe’s was kicked-off with a pre-social, featuring appetizers from the famed South Beach landmark restaurant, along with the opportunity to win dinner for 20 guests at Joe’s.

2nd annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes Fashion Show
More than 300 guests filled the Biltmore Hotel Country Club Ballroom for the 2nd annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes fashion show, silent auction and luncheon.
Co-chaired by Bronwyn Miller and Irene Korge, the sold out event benefited Womenade, which raises awareness for the women and children residing at Community Partnership for Homeless looking to rebuild their lives.
Models wore exquisite vintage fashions presented by C. Madeleine’s, stylist Danny Santiago and hair styling and makeup artists from RikRak Salon Boutique & Bar.

American Red Cross Celebrates 29th Annual Ball
The American Red Cross celebrated its 29th Annual American Red Cross Ball at the new JW Marriott Marquis Miami with more than 430 prominent and influential community leaders and philanthropists in attendance for a night of exquisite food, elegant décor and dancing.
Commemorating its 29th year of fundraising with the help of an extraordinary committee, this year’s ball raised more than $530,000 in support of the local disaster response programs and other life saving programs offered by the Red Cross in South Florida.

The American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys celebrated its 28th Annual Ball at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne with more than 400 prominent and influential community leaders and philanthropists in attendance for a night of entertainment, exquisite food, elegant décor and dancing.
The Red Cross Ball commemorated its 28th year of fundraising with the help of an exceptional committee of volunteers that raised more than $540,000 in support of the local disaster response programs and other life saving programs offered by the American Red Cross in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Miami’s top dogs strutted the catwalk in support of the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet for the second year at Jungle Island. An all-star lineup of pet-loving philanthropists were present, including Chairpersons Pat and Milton Wallace, “Top Dogs and Best in Show” Pamela Garrison and R. Kirk Landon; “Humane-itarians and Best of Breed” Bunny Bastian, Anna May and Eugene Conese, Marisa Cisneros-Rizzon and her husband Marcos Rizzon, and Nancy, Jon, and Sandy Batchelor.

“Destination Medicine in Miami” La Gorce Country Club Cocktail Reception of 4/22/10
Leadership from the University of Miami Hospital along with Nancy and Jon Batchelor hosted a special presentation and cocktail reception at La Gorce Country Club on Miami Beach, Thursday, April 22. The event, emceed by Dr. William O’Neill, executive dean for clinical affairs at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, focused on “Destination Medicine in Miami,” highlighting some of the specialty services offered at UMH, including a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab and enhanced robotic surgery capabilities.
Nearly 80 people listened to brief presentations and participated in an energetic Q&A Session. In addition to Dr. O’Neill, four UM physicians took part: Dr. Bart Chernow, vice provost of technology advancement and vice president for special programs and resource strategy, Dr. Maria Abreu, professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Dr. Fred Telischi, professor and interim chair of otolaryngology, and Dr. Lee Kaplan, associate professor of orthopaedics and chief of the Sports Medicine Division. |
