Aventura

Aventura is located approximately 3.5 from North Miami Beach in northeast Miami-Dade County. As of 2005, the estimated population of this city was 29,391. This mostly residential suburb is home to some of the taller and more affluent condominium and apartment high rises in Miami-Dade County.Aventura is a relatively young city.Until the late seventies, this area of Miami, formerly Biscayne Gardens was still almost all swampland.

Development in this area in earnest did not begin until the late seventies and early eighties.The Oxford Development Company is responsible for many of those first condominium towers that now comprise Aventura. This same development company also constructed the Aventura Mall, the largest shopping mall in Florida. The popularity of the Aventura Mall, which opened its 2.3 million square feet of retail space to the public in 1983, is responsible for the rapid growth that Aventura has exhibited in its short history. The beautiful south Florida weather and tropical lifestyle is probably also to blame. Aventura was finally incorporated as an independent city on November 7, 1995.

Offerings in Aventura include apartments, condominiums, townhouses, single-family homes and luxurious waterfront homes. Prices in Aventura start from $150,000 for a 1/1 condo or apartment and to well into the millions for larger waterfront homes and condos.
